At EUSD, we believe every child deserves a strong, joyful start to school. That’s why, for the past three years, we’ve been working side by side with California Education Partners and districts across the state to make early learning, especially early math, more connected, more engaging, and more empowering for our youngest students.
Check out the video in our News Feed to see the heart behind this work. But what makes us proud is how it’s coming to life right here at home: in our classrooms, in our TK and 3rd grade communities, and in the bright confidence we see growing in our students every day.
And we know this is just the beginning. With you, our EUSD families, by our side, we’re building the foundations that will carry our students forward for years to come.
As we head into Thanksgiving Break next week, we know this season can look different for every family. That’s why we put together a simple guide with free meals, warm spaces, family activities, and support for anyone who may need it during the break. Even though our classrooms will pause, the care we have for our families never does. We’re grateful for you, and we hope this guide brings a little ease and comfort as you prepare for the week ahead. As temperatures continue to drop, families are welcome to use any of Stanislaus County’s designated warming centers for a safe, heated place to stay during the day. These are free community spaces located at local libraries, community centers, transit centers, and more. We know that many families may be facing changes or delays in their food benefits right now. If this is affecting your household, please know you are not alone. There are free food resources available all year in our community. Every family is welcome, and you do not need to meet any requirements or share personal information to receive help. These programs exist to make sure everyone has access to healthy food and support. There is no registration or paperwork required, simply show up, and you will be welcomed with care. Sometimes mornings are tough, we get it. But every day your child spends at school is a day to learn something new, laugh with friends, and feel proud of themselves. Even just a few missed days a month can make it harder to keep up, but showing up, even on the hard days, makes a big difference. Celebrating National School Lunch Week! This week, our Superintendent C.W. Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Andreya Viscovich, and district staff rolled up their sleeves to join our amazing Food Services team in serving lunch at our schools. It was a wonderful reminder of how much heart goes into every meal. The laughter in the cafeteria and the smiles from students truly show the care and dedication of our Food Services team. El Concilio California is hosting a free Study Group every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 4:00pm–6:00 p.m. in downtown Modesto. Students are invited to bring their devices and homework for a supportive and focused study session led by caring mentors at El Concilio.

We are pleased to share with you that our After School Program will be offered to all our TK-8th-grade students for the 2025-2026 school year. All campuses within the Empire Union School District will host an after-school program for students. Please see our FAQ to learn about the program offering.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I need to do for my child to attend the after-school program?
For your child to attend the after-school program, you must complete the Google registration form.
What are the hours of the after-school program?
The after-school program is offered from dismissal until 6:00 pm (6:08 pm for middle school) on all school days.
What grades are allowed to attend the after-school program?
Students in TK-8th grades are eligible to attend the program on their campus.
Is the after-school program offered at my school?
Yes, the after-school program is offered at all campuses within EUSD.
Is this the same after-school program currently offered at my child’s school?
Yes, this is the same program currently being offered, with the exception that it is now offered to all grades.
How much does the after-school program cost?
The after-school program is offered to each student at no cost.
Does the after-school program offer my child a snack or a meal?
Yes, all students will be provided a ‘supper’ daily. It is provided by our food service department
How long does my child have to be in the program?
Each day your child attends the program, they must remain in the program for one hour after the dismissal bell. For example, if your child is dismissed from school at 2:30 pm, the soonest they are able to be checked out from the program is 3:30 pm.
How many days per week does my child have to attend?
We ask that families commit to at least three days per week for middle school/daily for elementary schools.
